[englisch/amerikanisch, 'mɔdən ə'kuːstɪk bluːz], Bezeichnung für eine in den Achtzigerjahren erfolgte Wiederbelebung der traditionellen Spielweisen des Countryblues hauptsächlich auf der akustischen Gitarre, wie sie vor allem von Taj Mahal (* 1940) und Johnny Winter (1944) sowie den weißen Gitarristen John Hammond (* 1942), Dave van Ronk (* 1945), Rory Block (* 1941) und Bonnie Raitt (* 1949) bekannt gemacht wurden.
